AVAILABLE GRANTS
Most Episcopal Deacons serve as non-stipendiary ministry leaders in the Church (or are retired). Deacons tend to lack church pensions, or may not have adequate savings from secular work, to draw upon in times of crisis. We provide vital financial assistance to those leaders who've served others and the Church.
The Fund offers three grants for deacons with financial need. If you feel that you might be eligible for a grant, please review our Guidelines for Making Grants. If you’re unclear as to which grant might apply to your situation, please contact our Grants Administrator. To be eligible for a grant, a deacon must have been ordained for at least five years.
Applications are accepted at any time and all information given to the Fund is held in confidence. All grants are reviewed annually, based on grantee's updated information.

Two types of grants are available – monthly stipends for basic living expenses and one-time grants.

Available to deacons who have been impacted financially by a Federal-, State-, or Local-declared emergency.

Assistance for direct medical expenses such as hearing aids, dental procedures, and medical equipment.
